I just hope they give PS5 players more Acquilas than Xboxers for the incredible drama that would ensue!
please do not give them any
wear your reject pajamas only and stick it to da man
This is the way. I will continue to look out of my windows in envy as you all play this game. But until it significantly improves, I abstain from even buying the game.
Getting?
JUST NOW getting hard to justify giving FS money?!
Where’ve you been for the past… well… um… 3-4 years?
They haven’t given reason to give them money since launch. Early access payment is all they get till end of early access.
i for one am glad pc was the lead platform for darktide (happens rarely enough).
to many games go the “easy way” and the result always feel sluggish in mouse movement and underwhelming in graphic fidelity.
last game that had this feel good physics was quake champions, aim is on point.
add to that the usual bloated UI to fit the obligatory tv/couch setup and its an instant nope for me.
last patch gave me something i was missing since release, deactivate hit markers.
another rubbish that made its way into modern shooters so 5 meters from the screen people “see” if the hit anything.
have as many options as you want but make them toggable not mandatory.
clean/immersive HUD smallest dot crosshair and i’m set.
as for performance, call me tinfoil hat but ever since xbox was added hordes felt smaller. same goes for any enemy cluster up until the recent patch, THIS is how an auric maelstrom should feel.
personally, if a “main game” comes along, i buy a proper rig and want to see something from the hardware i invest a couple months salaries into.
having it toned down feels like getting a ferrari speed capped so the rust buckets don’t get blown from the streets.
IF ps5 gets also stuffed in, please for the sake of sanity, make some pc servers and an option to turn off crossplay.
last match with 3 console guys wasnt even a fun carry, it was a snails pace more akin to world of tanks, much like their turning speed.
for “objectivity’s” sake i had 1(ONE) xbox dude delivering an awesome performance till the eventual bitter end.
you saw the sluggish movement through but he did well DESPITE the handicap.
on the other hand i learned quite a bit in the last 1000 hours seeing others pushing the limit with m&k(and presumably steady 144+ fps)
by all means, make a ps5 version, but hands off the pc performance.
console cant keep lousy 60 fps?
Idk what this means, but yeah!
FS development has always been like this:
They want you here, to play for a bit, spend money on their store. Log back on every now and again to spend more money on their store. Play a bit more. Rinse and repeat until they decide we need to actually develop our live service and then release a half baked pie riddled with glitches.
They make niche games, with a very low expectations. Price micro-transitions high to cater to their cosmetic whales because Big Daddy TenCent says so.
They have a more Life first, work very very last attitude.
It is what it is.
When FS launched Darktide on Xbox they gave a bunch of premium currency (14k or so, a significant amount regardless) to Xbox players. This was a short time after a particularly rocky beta period so PC players were in a bit of an uproar that they didn’t see any of the currency which may have been appreciated as a consolatory gesture.
Coupled with the facts (no tinfoil hat required @Index ) that horde sizes were limited to meet Xbox specs, and cross play was unable to be disabled for pc players (a particular thorn given the controller handicap), a lot of people were very annoyed at how the business decisions made affected game quality overall.
With how large they are and how well Vermintide 2 sold, even more than expected, I really do not understand how they work like this. Game making is hard, and devs do not set out to be disappointing, but I really feel like there has to be a reason for this that can can be resolved. Idk how, but I’m sure there is.
Ok I guess man.
