INVESTIGATION: Disconnects (Error Code: 2001, 2014, 3013, 4001) & General Connectivity Issues

Issue Type (Required):

Error - 3013

Issue Description (Required):

Haven’t played the game in probably a week. Now that I have more free time & can get back into the game I keep getting “Failed joining server (Error Code: 3013).” Literally have to spam trying to start the game 10+ times before I can actually get in. When I join for matchmaking it works until I find a squad in which the game asks if I want to try reconnecting to the server. I’m able to reconnect in no time, but after completing a mission I’m back at the operative selection screen…. just to have to do this process all over again. It’s been like this the last few times I’ve tried to play…

Any idea(s) as to what’s going on or how to circumnavigate this issue? It’s getting absolutely ridiculous & makes me want to not play this game ever again

again.

I’ve left this game for a week and servers are still trash.

Everything went smooth up until the end when MASSIVE lag happened. And I mean “throwing a ‘nade and wait for it to explode for about 5 secs in a orgy of lagging enemies“ kind of lag.

I’ve died before any error code could happen.

This is the log from Machine 1 (specs and infos in one of my previous posts):

Adding today’s logs. a lot of lags with no disconnection errors towards the end. Floating PCs, floating enemies, non-registered hits and delay.

Game is unplayable even if no disconenction error happened.

another update and i still get backend errors. Fix your stuff, for the love of god. That should be your top priority! not a event many of us cant participate in because the servers are shitting themselfes

Been playing the game fine until yesterday. Since yesterday, I have tried playing the game 10+ times and it keeps giving Error 3013.

I can go into the game’s class selection screen but when I choose an class and press Play on the right, it shows the loading screen and then puts me back to the selection screen with the error 3013 on the right side of the screen.

So Fatshark, when will you aquire new servers? You got so much cash from us and yet you pump out meaningless updates instead of focusing on servers that obviously are the problem. To think im with you since Vermintide 1 but i registered only to complain about Darktide since early access.

Hello! I have been having an issue with infinite loading “Processing inquisitorial Clearance“ screen for three days. The game just won’t load no matter how long i wait. I’m playing on PS5 with no mods.

I am relatively new to the game have gotten a group of friends into the game as well but over the last week I have had a horrible experience. Lagging with enemies flying around, hit markers and player damage being delayed (sometimes over 15 seconds), enemies mindlessly walking in away from me or towards past positions, then the screen will tear and the game crashes Error 2014. I have now tried everything (listed by fatshark as a possible fix ) except using a VPN to no avail. I play on PC through steam, I am not using a cloud service, USA TN and my provider is Highland Telephone COOP., I have the problem when connected to wifi or ethernet, and the issue happens fairly consistently. I don’t use mods and the next time I play I will add a console log to this post. I love the game but can’t play. Hopefully it gets fixed soon!

Still seeing the issue but in a different form now…

Having the same issues in Tennessee DTC isp

Issue Description (Required):

For a couple days already, I’ve regularly been seeing the same issue in some missions, again and again. Mission starts normally usually, then at some point mobs start to lag horribly (they are running in one spot, and don’t die even after multiple hits - while at the same time I’m being hit while nobody is around, as if mobs that actually exist were not shown where they should). I also see most of interactions (like rations pickups, opening chest, tagging mobs etc) being hugely delayed too. Strangely, but at the same time I usually see other players running around seemingly normally, sometimes hitting air (as if they were fighting foes I don’t see). If I close game with alt+f4, then start it again and reconnect to my match, it never fixes the issue, so doesn’t seem to be a client’s issue. If it’s started, then that’s it, it’s unplayable and the only solution is to start another mission, hoping it will work this time. If I wait long enough, I’m disconnected from the server with error 2014 mentioned.

I don’t see any pattern to it, so far, some missions work perfectly fine, at least. And I never see any lags when I’m on the Mourningstar too.

I have a suggestion for something I did to try and troubleshoot my lag and it might be worth trying for people here:

  • Go to Darktide’s appdata folder in C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide
  • Delete http_cache.db

Console players: A quick search doesn’t show me any way to clear cached data on a game by game basis but I did come across this article from Activision support with instructions on clearing the cache on PS5 and Xbox S/X. No promises it will help but if you’re feeling adventurous it shouldn’t hurt anything at least.

I rarely have disconnect issues but sometimes have a choppy connection and this seems to alleviate the issue a bit? It could also be a placebo and it just fixes itself after restarting the game but it could be worth a shot. This could just be coloration but I also recall seeing a post about how clearing the cache on PS5 like that article says can help with Helldivers 2, another Stingray engine game. Obligatory disclaimer, Fatshark owns the engine again and can change it however they want so it’s just as likely that some issues are just console oddities.

I don’t know if they’re exactly the same thing but Warframe for example has a “network cache” toggle in it’s launcher settings that can be turned off if it’s causing problems with some people’s network configurations. If the above suggestions do help it could be worth the devs looking into making it an optional setting or maybe just automatically resetting it after an update. Kinda like how the shader cache changes with every game/driver update on PC.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide uses Azure servers, and the game is known to be particularly sensitive to packet loss and network instability, which are direct results of the AFD outages. These network issues can manifest as disconnections (with various error codes), severe lag, or game crashes

October 9, 2025: An issue caused significant packet loss and connection time-outs, primarily impacting users in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

  • October 29, 2025: A global issue, suspected to be caused by an inadvertent configuration change, resulted in widespread service unavailability and HTTP timeouts. Microsoft actively worked on rolling back the configuration to a last known good state

DC Evidence

I hope I am posting this correctly, as I do not normally make forum posts. I was redirected here after sending an email to support about my current issues. So I will post what I originally sent them, as well as attach a video to supply a brief bit of evidence. The video posted above is just a simple Non-Event Malice, and I couldn’t even last 3 minutes in it without dcing 4 times.

Ever since the Rations update, playing on harder difficulties has become impossible for me and my partner, as he plays sitting next to me. Our connectivity regularly drops, leading to countless DCs (up to 5-6 per match), which leads to a lack of responsiveness from the game. I hit enemies, the sound plays, but enemies have either stopped moving or run in place for a moment before they suddenly vanish or run off, and I receive no hit markers. Enemies regularly slide under the map or vanish/appear, with no warning. I disconnect a minimum of 5 times a game. My ping, however, never drops; I consistently have a 30ms Ping. My internet is NOT the issue here.

Lately, I have noticed that the more enemies on the screen, the WORSE the problem is. When I play a mission on the lowest difficulty, I suffer very little besides the occasional jitter or stutter. Havoc is absolutely unplayable. Sometimes using Smite on Psyker helps the frame drag since it forces all the enemies to stand together, but I still drop.

I have NVIDIA Driver 581.57 from Oct 14, 2025; all drivers are updated. My pc is constantly updated, and all drivers are kept in tip-top shape. I am on the North American server. I have also received word from my friend, who doesn’t have these problems, that he actually has an older version of NVIDIA drivers, 576.52. I have tried to revert my NVIDIA to this driver version, but it did nothing to alleviate this issue for me.

I really hope this issue gets solved. This is genuinely a game I turn to at the end of a shitty day just to have fun, but for nearly two weeks or so now, I have not been able to play a match correctly without dcing constantly. I dont know what else to add or really say for reports to help you further.

(I REALLY want to hammer home that these issues began long before the recent internet crisis with Azure, they may have been compounded yes, but this was going on before all of that.)

I was really hopeful for this as clearing my Cache for Red Dead Online helps immensely when the game fecks up, but I wanted to report that this did not work for me :sob:

Ah well, it was worth a shot. Still curious if clearing the cache helps console players with other issues even if it might not help with connectivity

Ive been been getting error codes 2014, 2004, 1003. When I get in to the lobby it either lags or comes in patchy. It then kicks me back to the character selection or title screen.

Steam on PC.

Eastern NA isp is verizon fios.

Wi-fi no wire.

Looks like its been happening since the anniversary started. I think it started for me on the 30th or 31st of October maybe earlier since i dont play that often.

Ive never had this issue before. I normally play on my 5g internet and it worked perfectly with no issues, now when I try to it just doesn’t even leave character selection it just stays there. I tried with my non 5g and it gets me in but this is when the error codes happen either in the Morningstar or during missions and i get sent back to the title screen or character selection.

Interestingly i tried using a wifi extender and that solved it and it runs normally but it can infrequently either lag or be patchy for a brief second during missions and ive only had one error 2014.

Any help would be appreciated.

Morning all!

We’ve recently made a discovery on another error not mentioned here - Error Code: 2011 - which appears to be caused by an application called cFosSpeed. This software is often pre-installed on systems with MSI or Gigabyte motherboards, but it is not required for Windows or normal network operation.

In our investigation, we identified numerous reports of network instability linked to cFosSpeed, including packet loss and high latency, not only in Darktide but across other applications as well.

It also seems that a recent Windows update may have made these issues more noticeable.

If you’re experiencing regular connectivity problems or Error Code: 2011, we recommend checking whether cFosSpeed might be the cause and consider uninstalling it.
