Human 2h sword is slow and clumsy. Elf 2h sword is still v. fast and has enough dodge count to avoid any kind of damage.
If you want something along the lines of 2h sword, use glaive or dual swords or spear.
But for unique experience, just use Kerilian’s 2h sword, that allows you to succesfully pick out elites from the crowd and slice and dice the rest. It’s by far my favourite melee weapon for waystalker.
You haven’t played 2h sword much, have you?
This wepon should move and perform just like the Executioner sword from Kruber
light attacks to clear hordes and heavy to hit the heads
Please no. Exe sword is powerful, but it feels so horrible to use compared to elf 2h sword. There’s no flow to it at all.
I mean, there is flow. But a human mercenary flow. Wouldn’t suit an elven sword ^^
Imo simply make the upward LESS upward and closer to horizontal would work. Or add some more horizontal/downward swing in the light chain
Keri’s xword equivalent is obviously the glaive. I think they should just make it more similar to human 2h sword in overall profile. The precise charged stab is nice, but it doesn’t really flow with the weapon’s overall design and feel imho. Maybe putting the charged stab on push attack like they did with the overhead on human 2h sword would be a wise decision and putting heavy sweeps on the charged attack. The light attack that currently follows the charged attack would be a good candidate for that, as it is an almost completely horizontal strike. Put one in from the other side and you’re all set.
Human 2h sword? Played enough to realize I absolutely hate it because it’s slow and doesn’t have enough single-target output. With elven 2h sword - 1 stab = 1 stormvermin bites the dust. Wonderful weapon.
Okay, so you used it wrong, then. Gotcha.
No, I didn’t. I’ve used every weapon in game and Elf sword is excellent. Simple as this. It’s not as OP as elven spear, but compared to human/dwarf weapon it rocks. Not my fault you use it wrong. Gotcha.
Never claimed it was bad, did I? If you want to go for a snappy response, gotta work on those reading skills of yours. You simply don’t know how to properly use human 2h sword, that’s for sure. If you did, you’d know how devestating it can be. It’s neither particularly slow (it is in fact the same exact speed on light attacks as elven 2h sword, in the same way as both weapons share the same light attack damage profile), nor does it particularly lack single target damage output (though it is definitely not one of its strengths), especially when making proper use of the push attack overhead, which can demolish stormvermin with 2 rather easy to land headshots (and on FK, stamina for push attacks is not an issue at all). You don’t like it, that’s fair enough. But you obviously didn’t play with it enough to formulate a sophisticated view about how well it performs, so don’t pretend to be knowledgable about a weapon you clearly don’t know anything about.
No, you didn’t write it directly, but your annoying attitude and constant pathetic ad personam attacks clearly show that you have some kind of agenda in here, and I guess this agenda is to make the elven sword even better, while it’s already an excellent weapon. So no, it’s not my reading skills that are a problem, deal with it.
You simply don’t know how to properly use human 2h sword, that’s for sure.
And another attack based on what exactly? That I don’t enjoy using it as much as I enjoy the excellent elven sword?
It’s neither particularly slow
Well, if we simply ignore the fact, that it actually is slow, then yeah, it’s not. Being slow is not just about the speed of light attack, but also the matter of mobility that goes with it.
nor does it particularly lack single target damage output
Except it does, for MY needs.
making proper use of the push attack overhead
Requiring specialized high-stamina/stamina regen builds to make it work.
You don’t like it, that’s fair enough.
Finally!
And I love the elven 2h sword. See, different people, different needs.
But you obviously didn’t play with it enough to formulate a sophisticated view about how well it performs
I don’t have to, just like I don’t have to play Bardin shield and hammer to know it absolutely doesn’t fit my playstyle and my requirements, hence I’m using different weapon set.
, so don’t pretend to be knowledgable about a weapon you clearly don’t know anything about
Now you’re clearly having flashbacks from the world of your imagination. I get it - there’s no point in further discussing anything with you, because all you can come up with are rude comments, ad personam attacks coupled with nice cases of false memory syndrome.
Bye.
Complains about ad hominem attacks (which they are not, might want to look them up)
MEME
Uses ad hominem attacks to defend his position.
No, rather your comprehension skills.
Based on the fact that you called it slow, while the elven 2h sword has the exact same speed and light attack damage profile and your statement that it has better single-target DPS is very debatable. Try boss killing with elven 2h sword and human 2h sword, see which one can tackle them faster. That’s why it is very reasonable to come to the conclusion that you have not spent enough time with the weapon to form an educated opinion about its performance.
You’re right, it’s not about only light attack speed (nice goal-post shift, by the way), but also about how quickly it can get its DPS out, and human 2h sword is superior when it comes to CC, horde clear and mixed hordes (and arguably boss damage, which is horrendously bad on elven 2h sword). Mobility advantage from the slight forward lunge on elven 2h sword light attack is negligible.
Good for you, but doesn’t make your statement anymore true.
Again, if you’d actually play with the weapon, you’d find that this is not necessary at all, and running the weapon on FK with +2 stamina on necklace and MAYBE +2 stamina from aura isn’t a specialized build, that’s stuff you just take along most of the time, anyway.
No, you don’t have to, but then your opinion on the subject is rather worthless, since it is based on assumptions and hearsay rather than first hand experience. Don’t know why that concept seems to be so hard to grasp for you. Practical experience beats theoretical experience almost anytime.
Ah, the good old “I’m losing the argument, so I am dropping presonal attacks and state that the discussion is over, so I don’t have to deal with someone that challenges my views”-card. Fair enough.
Well, this USED to be a constructive thread…
