just had a hairs breath fail with complete randos on havoc 40 and the fight was doable and just punishes small mistakes harder than the usual gameplay we grew complacent in recent years
is it tedious? yep but for a lack of better alternatives i take it over the shield captains any day
they shouldn´t adjust new content not even out for 72 hours.
not everyone has a premade at hand to get that fast to exactly havoc 40 with that map in its pool.
now clearing the boss fight feels a tad tainted compared to those who did it “harder” and with no means to proof equality ever again
like i said in the other post clearing diablo 3 on nightmare solo was only a brag until blizzard nerfed it into the ground
The only thing I have against the new boss is that it makes two game concepts useless: anti-boss weapons, because it has an absurd amount of defense, and the fact that the boss appears in other missions to give the game a breath of fresh air. Beyond that, it’s personal preference, but I hate phase-capped bosses with minions in between—it’s the most mediocre and boring design where the boss becomes invulnerable and spams enemies with AoEs, but that’s just my personal opinion.
And don’t even get me started on the stupidity of having to play the campaign just to access the mission, instead of having it simply added to the general pool so more people would play it and you wouldn’t have to wait around for teammates in the campaign section.
Don’t forget the modifiers, moebian 21+ritual literally turns the map into easy mode, many ppl can duo it already. Only rotten armor+ranial corruption still offers some fun.
His attacks are very dependent on the arena environment so I’m not sure he could just spawn anywhere without it bugging out hard. He needs a lot of room for all the different waves
After being rusty (1 month not playing), after night shift, trying out the new ogryn weapon with a new build, with big performance issues I managed to get him down to half health. It’s not that bad but I would make the change that disablers cannot spawn in the bossfight (Nurgloth didn’t have that if I recall right). But the poxgas section before the boss can generally F itself.
That is only if you choose the wrong path. You have to follow the path that has the glyph shown to you after the halftime captain boss to avoid the pox gas.
The first couple of times I didn’t understand this as I wasn’t listening to the audio (I don’t care about the narrative) and we ended up waiting for ages thinking the gas would disappear but it never did.
So yeah…follow the path with that particular glyph. It changes each time you play
There are shifting safe zones in the hard path that are almost impossible to discern. That really needs some ironing out, but could have been made actually hard in a genuine and engaging way. Would have way rather had the hard route simply spawn more enemies and a monstrosity than more corruption zones with insane damage scaling. Good stress test for your lobby to see if the fat man is even worth fighting.
honestly, thats about it… the only issue i have with it is that the outer ring isn’t as clear as it should be compared to the rest… the rings in general could be improved.. leave the rest alone o_o
