How to make Bardin's hammer and shield more interesting

It cannot excel Axe and Shield. Axe and Shield still has slightly more DPS while not using any stamina and being faster.

To deal with a single SV you have to shieldbash him twice. And then you have to spend stamina on SB attack if you’re using Hammer and Shield. You will run out of stamina.
And that is stupid.
I want hammer and shield to have proper, controllable combos instead of having to circumvent bad design to make it work.

That’s because Hammer and Shield has bad design and needs a change.

You prefer shooting yourself in the foot.
Hammer and Shield can be a normal, decent weapon that requires skill and stamina management without this stupid combo setup and circumventing. It just needs a few changes.

I don’t have that DLC and I’m not planning to buy it.

In the end Hammer and Shield consists of two things that overlap instead of complementing each other and player has to circumvent its drawbacks by utilizing a weird combo that drains stamina.
It’s not “challenging”, it’s inconvenient and simply worse than Axe and Shield.
It should be reworked to have simpler, more controllable combos.

the animations for the 2nd light attack are different. Saltz’ stops about halfway through the strike making it feel like an actual hammer hit unlike bardin’s which is more of a cleave.

Really? It must have been changed in last update then.

its been like that for as long as i can remember now. like as far back as when saltz’ class was released that was part of the rotation
