This is a known issue, I’m going to add it to the hotfix patch notes above!
Thanks
Can you add “Solo mode still isn’t in the game.” to the known issues?
Already received a staff response on this, not an active priority.
Soooo.
I’ve got quite a few hours in the game. Made a lot of weapons in the prevoius system. Logged in today, to take a looksie at the new crafting.
My first impressions are: anger
Why is this system so bloody convoluted? Why have us running over to Hadron to do this at all?? why does it feel like I’m the freaking techpriest here?
I’m scrolling through all these unfiltered items in the sacrifice page, got these stupid green dots on weapons I never use. But hey, guess I’ve got to click on all these blessings, that I never use, so the stupid dots vanish. Pointless, boring, busy work.
I already had all the mastery for these weapons, so why not click the recipes for me???
All in all, I’m so worn out going through this boring garbage I’ve lost all desire to play today. What even was the point of me unlocking all the blessings I already had again? I’m not even going to craft anything. Why would I? Theres nothing new to engage with for me in this system, same tired old weapons and blessings for me. I see now why so many were against reworking the crafting, when we’re all feeling bored of the same old, same old.
The crafting rework had to come with fundamental weapon reworks, to have a chance of not causing fatigue in old timers.
One last thing. We need a new UI lead designer. Nothing personal, I don’t know who they are. But from my side of things, this isn’t good enough. I’m sure we can both agree, the fundamentals of UI design come from “ease of comprehension at a glance”. That is not my experience in this game, at all. Ever.
Getting a reply in a thread or dm isn’t the same as Fatshark announcing that they lied to everyone about Solo Mode. So, I’m going to continue being a Thorn in their side until they give us a public explanation on why solo mode still isn’t in the game (when literally all they have to do is flip a switch to let us launch a private lobby with just 1 person) or they ban me. Which, considering that I’m not breaking TOS (or at least haven’t been told that I am in any capacity) they have no reason TO ban me other than I’m being annoying. Which as far as I’m aware isn’t a bannable offense.
They lied, I want answers and “not a priority” isn’t an answer when it was a) almost complete in 2022 and b) as I said the functionality is already in the game with private lobbies, but they won’t let us start a mission without at least 2 people for some unknown reason (again they won’t say anything publicly.)
It is an answer. Just not the one you want it to be.
This is like the partner who will keep on asking a question until they get the “acceptable” response. When confronted they will either melt down or say it is just light hearted no reason to get serious. Then back to the same behaviour the next day. I am definitely familiar with relationships like that. It is not healthy.
I dislike that comparison. This is not a relationship but a transaction. FS got money in exchange for a certain subset of features they promised. Many of which should have been there for release. They delivered on some, after two years mind you, but still not everything.
If they want to continue getting money and further transactions they better deliver. Accepting stuff like this is what leads to unhealthy games that has become the norm. Being a thorn in their side and giving them constant negative press is correct.
So if you had an employee and they didn’t provide you with a report they told you they would give you and when you said “where is it?” and they said “it’s not a priority.” you’d say “cool, thanks.”
No. You wouldn’t. Because it’s a non-answer. Why isn’t it a priority? Why did it go from “almost done” to “can’t be bothered to even talk about it?”
I’d be fine with them giving a detailed explanation as to why it’s not a priority. And we can speculate that it was the state of the game on release and crafting and network issues. But until Fatshark announces something. It’s just that, speculation.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not blaming Strawhat, it’s not her fault. I’m sure “not a priority” is all she’s been given too. But as the liason, she’s the only POC to give us a voice inside the company and let them know that we’re not satisfied with that answer and want to know what happened, if it’s coming, if it is coming then when, and if it’s not coming then why not?
Just wanted to chime in on this too.
Darktide is a very complex game, full of trivia and nuance. Changing the names of so many weapons, buffs & other variables out of the blue seems to serve nothing but general confusion. Old links, resources, tips, mods, discussions in general will now be near useless to new people while throwing even old ones off balance. Everything related to the game’s trivia will now have to be updated, every terminology re-learned. Including in-game sorting thanks to the new weapon names, changing weapon marks, and lack of overall rating score.
There could be a good reason for it ofc. Maybe it’s lore-related, re-branding, something that makes sense. But without knowing that reason I can’t help but wonder, why? It just seems like extra work, time & money spent to make things harder for everyone?
I also want to raise the issue of the menu shortcuts. Old shortcut keys no longer work so we have to actually click the buttons one by one to navigate the basics. For that matter, why have we always had to use arrow keys to navigate the inventory for example, when WASD isn’t usable there anyway? Why not just let us use W & S to navigate up & down, A & D for left & right in for example weapon details (not even arrows do the left & right thing)?
Other than that I have nothing but thanks in mind and huuuuuge appreciation for the big patch! So big thanks FS!
On another note, regarding weapon skins @FatsharkStrawHat :
Could you guys check the trinket placement on weapons?
I appreciate the effort of giving the new double barrel shotgun skin a trinket ring at the front, so you can actually see it in first person, but you guys forgot to move the trinket point there as well.
It’d be great if trinkets would actually show up in a visible space on the weapons and not at the stock where we can’t see them.
Especially if you ask real money for some of them. This is an issue with many weapons.
Any particular reason why FSR 3.1 Framegen disables DLSS and Reflex?
Any other game with FSR 3.1 Framegen lets you run these two in conjunction with it,
so why not this one?
WHATEVER. GAME IS TOO EASY NOW!!! not all caps
