Most people seem to be excited about the ranged or “spellcaster” variants, but me Im really excited about the melee Skitarii. To me there is no medium sized/mobile good blade weapon for a melee focused class. Im atm playing a veteran with a power sword, alternating to Zealot with chain sword, but none of them feel how i would like it to feel. Veteran focusing on melee is alwys a bit weird, because he is to fragile and got godawfull stamina. I work around it somehow with the build , but its still awkward. Zealot with chainsword just isnt good enough, the chainsword special attack as only way to deal with carapace is limiting.. And relic blade/evisarator are just so slow…
So i hope The Skitarii melee build will fill that niche. The weapons showed all seems in the medium variant, and there is to be a melee specialization, so it seems to all check out. And the weapons look so cool specially the sword and dagger.
Heavy sword does nothing to carapace, and i want an allrounder. Psykers force greatsword is just like relic blade, slow. And psyker is fragile, just like the veteran. I am not 100% sure what the image is , but if its Ogryns knife, Ogryn is to slow for me. Yeah im picky:)
I hope that the new class won’t be another addition which introduces more AoE based tools to kill dozens if not hundreds of enemies at range in a matter of seconds, and that it doesn’t came with another “press X to win” button as it is the case with psyker and hive scum builds atm.
if you don’t like the big boys like relic, evis or Crusher (they feel fast enough on marty or IJ builds to me) try chain axes or bone saw, also Mk IV cleaver is pretty fun on Ogryn. Crushers arent really a problem just punch stab, maybe weave in some ripper can opener / Grenade Gauntlet hits in between for that that extra brittleness. Those weapon combos have been fun for me since the beginning.
Heavy sword cam be totally fine into carapace on hive scum rampage build, especially if you take the chem toxin on crit node. Just take rending takents and stims if you myst /shrug
Sorry but this is literally the whole way “Arc” debuff will work if I understood it correctly
If enemies have the Arc condition, hitting one of them with something in specific (idk what would that be) will also damage all other enemies with the Arc debuff
Or maybe I’m completely wrong but I’m pretty sure that’s what the dev note implies
My understanding is that the way arc works, when you apply the arc debuff, it then chains damage to every other nearby target with the arc debuff.
E.g., you hit target 1 and apply arc and nothing happens. Then you hit target 2 and apply arc. Lightning jumps from target 2 to target 1 and does damage. Then you hit target 3 and apply arc, and lightning jumps from target 3 to targets 1 and 2, doing damage to both.
I could absolutely be wrong, I don’t have any insight behind the curtain here, but that’s the impression I got from what little has been said about it so far.
