that is pretty funny to me. the nerf didnt really solve much and its only really a small roadblock. you can still get all the ammo you desire… honestly… id get rid of the node all together, f it. unlimited ammo from desperado is crazy enough in my view. i think his aura getting ammo back kind of like Vet is enough as well, but thats just me…
Reminder that old pickpocket was degenerate and allowed me to top damage even in a rotten armour game while super mega safe
I’ll probably make another video that will show a Havoc game post pickpocket nerf with the exact same loadout
That playstyle was as degenerate as inferno + shriek psyker, with Boom Bringer buffs even more so, as you can easily delete whole packs of heavy armour in 1 second.
It’s my opinion that both playstyles don’t fit into the core Tide combat at all, and in the case of psyker power creep strongly contributed to why Havoc modifiers are so unhinged.
Havoc was created because the community highlighted problems with enemy density in what used to be the most difficult game mode: Aurics / Maelstrom. We actually have that enemy density now, mistakes in melee punish you more, and elites are more of a threat. I will stay away from ranged enemies changes, because I find them obnoxious.
Either way, all that effort can be nullified by ranged Soulblaze builds. This has been discussed to death. Instead of addressing the issue, Fatshark is just adding and buffing other ranged setups. The game is turning into Warframe slop.
With the dual smg’s yeah you just hose down everything but I think desperado with dual stub pistols is fine, it’s more of a elite hunter.
This might just be me being biased though since I think the stub pistols are cool![]()
Ended up doing it and still got top dmg when also having an inferno psyker as well as the 2 WORST modifiers for Desperado (21st and Rotten since everything takes sooooooo long to die it’s very hard to keep Desperado up)
Yeah, Pickpocket is still as good as always, I really wouldn’t worry about it people
So not only did it frustrate all the “I wanna shoot all game” people, you admit that it ALSO didn’t actually work as a nerf. That seems like a lose lose to me.
I circle back around to:
Also, since I didn’t respond to this before.
It’s fair and reasonable to be a bit defeatist about Fatshark’s ability to balance things well, I guess I’m just still not quite there yet. What I suggested would be pretty easy for them to implement, but I do tend to agree they’re not likely to take another crack at this problem for a while now they’ve already made a large change to pickpocket.
Still doesn’t hurt to theorise on what a better solution might look like.
Then you’re a true warrior, because I’m just a pure doomer about this now after just about 4-years of the same old. I just think we’re at a point where even certain nerfs are just light taps on the wrist & are not too substantial & don’t really have much of an impact like Pickpocket as a prime example. I mean, they won’t even look into changes for Pskyer, it’s like they’re afraid to touch it in that light. Even though the class is grossly OP that it makes even Havoc runs look like you’re playing on Malice. I’ve just stopped assuming they’re going to be reasonable about it & just accept that certain classes are just going to be OP. It is wild though nerfing Ogryn is such a way & buffing 2 of the OP classes makes any sense what-so-ever. It’s crap like this that I’m like; f-it, whatever, I’m done.
Hey, I’ve been playing since VT1, and that game literally had like 1-2 meta weapons per character and everything else was nearly unusable in the highest difficulties. XD This game is well-balanced in comparison!
Yes, this exactly. The biggest problem is that some people are just wanting this to be removed from the game because they don’t like it. But sorry, it’s in the game now, so they need to actually balance it. The change literally failed to do that, and just made a very unique build (within this game) much clunkier and less fun for a lot of the people who liked it.
It’s like in another thread where I was saying the +15% magazine size node was pointless and needed to be something like +50-100% ammo, but also increase reload time. Some people knee-jerk hated the idea, tho even admitted it wouldn’t be that good for the HS meta then. They admitted it was not a problem, they were against it because they just hate the playstyle.
Like you, I just see it as a problem for balancing. The last change completely failed, since the biggest problem on the kit (Needle Gun) is still completely functional, even getting buffs last patch.
TL;DR Near pure ranged Scum is ok to exist within the correct DPS parameters. The fix they’ve done to pickpocket has upset a lot of people while not really achieving what us pro nerf folks wanted. We can do better by both camps than what we were given.
Yes.
In fact, I want nerfs to HS in some ways. Their dodge is insanely OP, they have insane movespeed, and their crit rate is through the roof. All of those things need to be brought into line. OH YEAH, and Rampage Scum literally doesn’t care what he’s hitting, he’s doing crazy damage. I’ve seen them three-shot bosses while still maintaining hyper mobility.

TBF I think it’s very slightly worse on a crate build, since melee dots don’t proc it and you used to literally be able to just shoot and throw crate all game. But yeah rampage Scum with needle pistol only gets stronger and it’s still plenty abuseable on any build as long as you commit to shivs or a similar elite assassinating melee.

I know the devs said they wouldn’t … but they’ve said a lot of things: They should add Chaos Space Marines. We can take ‘em, and with improvised or 40K-year-old tech.
There’s something special happening on Atoma.

I suppose that video answers whatever Desperado can be a top damage dealer, and whatever I might be able to run Darktide on my fridge. Your textures / resolution just reminds me of Team Fortress.
So not only did it frustrate all the “I wanna shoot all game” people, you admit that it ALSO didn’t actually work as a nerf. That seems like a lose lose to me.
Effectiveness wise I’d say it did affect a little yes
But mainly, now it’s more engaging to play Desperado since I actually have to position myself where I could be in risk if I wanted to get ammo, compared to previous iteration, which I just held distance and kept shooting forever
I do think that’s a W for the most part, at least compared to the previous iteration which was me just perma holding distance
I’ll ramp it up once they fix optimization (aka never xddd)
