Issue Description:
Pressing Escape in game - can see the operative, penance, social, options, change op, quit game- when i press Options- i can see Interface, audio, video, keybindings, input for about 1 second then the screen fades to completly black - if i alt tab 2x i can see the menu with the above info again but again only lasts for 1 second then fades everything to black if i hit escape while its faded it goes back to the previous menu with the operative and penance . etc.
i am unable to make any changes in the options menu as i cant see anything.

- this image when using snip tool freezes the screen when i capture so it is easily visible the menu - however after 1s this menu fades away to black.
