Maybe we should ask Fatshark for a special event, about castrating hounds.
If we reach the objective, we have less dogges modifiers.
But… FS would make the objective too high… so we can’t reach it..
I KNOW IT!
(as im done writing, and chilled out, i can go back to the top of the post and say there is nothing of value written here. I was just writing a pretty bored comment but kinda spiraled out into a rant.)
Honestly knowing this is coming makes me want to play the game now even less.
This is the problem with live-service games and a huge pet peeve i have with them :
“Why play right now, playing the same content over and over so that by the time new content comes out i’ll be burned out and wont even want to try new content?”
Modifiers fix this problem completely because then i’d have so much different content that i’d take ages to get sick of it. This is why rogue-like/lite’s are so popular and undying. And why chaos wastes was/is the longest standing mode in vermintide 2.
Live-service is such a F-ing horrible idea wtf were/are the devs thinking with this.
Not only is it just a bad idea commercially (as we keep seeing these terrible live service slop getting entire companies bankrupt) its also a bad idea internally.
I cannot imagine the devs are thrilled about making content they wont get paid for.
If it was me, i would be FAR more enthusiastic if the end of the road on the calendar was marked with 3 huge dollar signs.
INSTEAD what awaits the devs is just more grind, no end goal, no end of a project that give a worker a hit of dopamine. Just endless grind for a horrible re$@%ded idea that some brainless businessman thought on one of their cocaine induced raves.
Guess im moving on to different games until this comes out and i come back for like a week again.
And WHY this is not in the game?
Btw whats the difference between a tox ogryn and a plague ogryn anyway?
Its been sitting at the back of my noggin ever since i saw it 2+ years ago (the tox ogryn) but never really bothered to ask anyone.
difference with this boss is that tox ogryn would likely use his ranged weapon in his hand as weapon instead of being a melee boss
And is very disgusting.

So what’s your favourite modifier out of all that we can’t play anymore?
All I’m seeing everytime there’s a new event that modifies the game in some way it’s always negative. Sure, it’s often directed at the fact that there are no aquillas for participation, but I never saw anyone ever go:
“Hey! I really like playing this event/modifier! Sad that it won’t stay in the game for longer than three weeks.”
So who’s better to ask than the person who’s dedicated to seeing past modifiers re-added to the game? What are some of the modifiers you loved playing? They’re probably the reason why you made this big-ass post in the first place, weren’t they?
If you know this is the place to ask, then you can just look up through my past comments (or the post itself) at the always at least 1 minimum post for every event (except the poxburster one) of people talking about how much they like it and it should stay available or the conditions should always be a thing, etc…
Examples just from the post body:
I’m gonna miss the Moebian 21st
The Brute conscripts modifier has definitely been an experience
and so on, and so on.
Maybe there will be a second resounding negative with this recent one because it wasn’t explained well nor did it work properly. But people loved the rations event, so it wasn’t the choosing a side thing, just the implementation of this one done poorly.
I’ve said often that I found an absolute new level of love and addiction for this game during the skulls event last year, the one most remember as the first to award aquilas.
Admonition Ascendant was, and will probably, unfortunately stay, peak Darktide, imo.
It provided this absolutely perfect spice that was (and is) desperately needed for Auric at the time. Havoc was ~3 seasons old at that point, so a bulk of people playing for penances were done and 40 wasn’t protected from derank yet, so it was just a pain to match up without a premade. But Auric was starting to feel stale from a balance perspective after some tree reworks.
In dropped Admonition Ascendant which, I believe, was the first modifier up till then to have an actually different mechanic with it (rather than just an enemy buff/spawn increase/etc.)
The totems made it so that you didn’t have to worry about collecting all the dropped skulls, even though people still complain about that being a thing.
The totems buffed the enemies around it, so dreg ragers would surprise you after a dose of super meth. Plus the totems would spawn a monstrosity &/or captain in most cases. And there were no player buffs, iirc, like the most recent skulls did when reusing the totems.
It was this wonderful, perfect zone between Auric and Havoc that you could still QP into without party finder promposals and spending an hour trying to play the game. The Aquilas were just a cherry on top.
And, being young and naive at the time, I thought it being SO peak and being a skulls event meant something bigger and that maybe this was how Auric Damnation or Maels were going to be moving forward.
