Few small improvment ideas for console players( and PC)

Firstly, I just want to say: I absolutely love Darktide. It’s not perfect (no game is), but the core experience is so good that the rough edges barely matter. In just over a month I’ve already sunk ~288 hours into it, got all six classes to level 30, dragged three mates into the game with me, and I’m still hungry for more. Even the community’s “hardcore complaints” don’t take anything away from how much I’m enjoying it. The atmosphere, sound design, and the feel of the combat are unreal.

Since I’m playing more Auric missions now and slowly working my way toward eventually surviving Havoc 40 without instantly evaporating, I wanted to offer some focused, simple QoL improvements that would make the UI/HUD and menus smoother without compromising the look or immersion of the game.

UI / HUD Quality-of-Life Suggestions

1. Optional central buff/debuff bar

In high-intensity fights it’s nearly impossible to check buffs scattered along the bottom of the screen without looking away from the combat. A small, optional central buff bar, with selectable buff categories, would make important buffs readable without cluttering the UI.

Some PC mods already do versions of this — having an official option for both PC and console would be a huge accessibility boost.

2. Adjustable default reticle / central dot visibility (especially for Zealot’s Blades of Fate)

With Blades of Fate, the blitz fires instantly — no grenade-style wind-up crosshair. Your accuracy relies entirely on the tiny static central dot, which can basically disappear depending on the lighting or background.

A simple option to adjust the size, brightness, or contrast of that permanent dot — or an “always-visible, high-contrast” mode — would make throws much more consistent and help with aiming in general.

Menu / Inventory QoL Improvements

3. Cycle weapon Marks directly from the Inspect screen

Comparing weapon Marks currently requires bouncing in and out of multiple menus.
A simple “cycle Mark” button right on the Inspect screen would save a ton of clicks and make comparing variations much smoother.

4. Allow naming of Wargear presets

The Wargear system is excellent — it remembers talents, cosmetics, stims, everything.
But once you’re running multiple builds across different classes, the icons alone aren’t enough to remember what each preset is meant to be.
Letting us name each Wargear loadout would make the system far more intuitive.

5. Show Wargear-set icons on weapons and curios

A small Wargear icon/tag next to weapons and curios currently assigned to a preset would be a massive QoL improvement.
Placing it near the Favourite star or next to the item name would prevent accidentally modifying or scrapping something tied to another build — something every long-term player has done at least once.

Final Thoughts

These aren’t big gameplay overhauls — just clean UI and usability tweaks that would make an already fantastic game feel even smoother, especially for players who swap between builds and classes often. Darktide has been one of my favourite experiences this year, and improvements like these would push it even further.

Thanks for all the hard work. Despite whatever the internet says on a bad day, the game is an absolute blast, and I’m excited to keep pushing deeper into Auric and eventually Havoc 40 — because clearly I’ve decided stress-testing my own soul is a fun hobby.
