As far as I’m aware it’s still the same. EG:

this by a long shot. You just press sacrifice on brunt’s screen and it’ll do all the steps of upgrading to green and sacrificing it for you. All you need is the materials.
buy 20-30 greys, level all to green, sacrifice

Guy, if you’re smart, you won’t do that like that…
I plan to keep the weapons that will be perfect for me in the process.
Why buying lot of weapons from Brunt, if you don’t take advantage of the situation?
At least, I will try to get 1 or 2 weapons with “perfect” stats.
My time is more important than materials at this point, I have 25m dockets and I want to do as few clicks as possible

And you have to consider, that you would buy a few of those anyway, since you probably want one that you actually use.
By the time you have one with the „right“ stats, you are probably 20 clicks in.

The true endgame is bumping them up to green before cracking.
How fast can you go through click, esc, esc, 90 times across 3 toons.
Going to kick myself if there’s a mod to get that done with one button press now that i’m done with the three alts.
Also controller makes it slightly less tedious.
