For those Fanatics confused to why their ability has inconsistent range, and sometimes goes through enemies and sometimes stops on them, its due to its wonky targeting mechanism. Normally, when you press F, you dash forward a short range, going through enemies in that distance. If you HOLD F while looking at an enemy, you ‘lock on’ to them, seeing an orange glow on them and dashing through enemies in the way to shoulder bash into them. Locking on has a range roughly 3 times that of the ‘untargeted’ dash, but is very difficult to do against enemies you want to close the gap to from very far away as you have to hold F on them until you see the barely perceptible orange glow, and no other enemies can be in the way or else it locks onto them instead.
The way I’d change this ability to make it more consistent, satisfying, and intuitive to use is to make it act exactly like Markus’ Foot Knight charge from VT2, where he pressed F to simply dash through and stagger all enemies (except bosses) for about twice the distance of Fanatic’s untargeted dash, in addition to increasing the speed at which you charge. This would give it better gap closing potential, disregard the need to use the gimmicky lock-on system, and make the ability actually fun to use.
