I wish I could dual-wield this game—guns, axes, knives, swords, and maces—like in Vermintide. Fatshark could make it real. Absolute fun guaranteed

Vaguely related, but I still find it astounding that Darktide doesn’t have one of 40k’s most iconic stances, the melee/ranged combo dual-wield. Instead, you get this quantum state of holding both a pistol and a 1h melee weapon in the same hand, if you change weapons back and forth quickly enough.
At least they could give us a version of the ol’ rapier + pistol combo.
Like give us a 1 handed weapon where weapon special fires a quick revolver shot from the offhand. The VT2 rapier blueprint seems good to me. The weapon special has infinite ammo but there’s a brief cooldown between uses (like a second) and it has very aggressive ranged drop off so it’s something that is mostly to weave into close quarters melee combat, no risk of replacing your actual ranged weapon.
Bonus points if the weapon special can proc weapon specialist.

Heck, I’d just like to be able to swap weapons normally using the scroll wheel, without constantly landing on a weaponless state in the middle of a moshpit. I’m asking quite a lot, I know

I bind my mouse wheel up to select melee, and mouse wheel down to swap to ranged. As a result I never miss the weapon swap, but then I forget I have a med/ammo pack or stimms.
I might have a play with my Razer settings and see if I can fix it in a similar fashion.
Crazy that simply swapping weapons is so difficult in a game that demands lightning reflexes.
I have the scroll set up different.
Up = melee
Down = ranged
Yeah it’s not a bad shout. Then a different key for grenade and medpack
I wish i can switch my ranged weapon to second melee.
