# Disk write error - not enough space on ssd

**Issue Description:**  
DISK WRITE ERROR WHEN MOVING DARKTIDE TO SSD

Bought a new 250GB SSD, moved the likes of CSGO, Farming Simulator 22 and the new Aliens Dark Descent into it and all worked fine. Tried to move Darktide into it, Apparently a 48GB game cannot move into 164GB of space.

I then wiped my SSD, tried to move Darktide into it again, it came up saying ‘THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON _SSD NAME_. YOU NEED AN ADDITIONAL 81.2GB TO COPY THESE FILES.’

So I actually need 331GB SSD to transfer Darktide over, which yet again, is a 48GB GAME. How does a 48GB game inflate to over 300GB.

Can someone who knows what they are talking about help me out. I have found only one other thread on this issue and it resulted in a dead end.

P.S i’ve already tried the reinstall this, restart that milarky, this seems to something more complicated than a simple turn off/turn on.

Head to your Steam library, right-click Darktide and select ‘Properties’ → ‘Installed Files’. What happens if you try to move your installation via Steam’s own ‘Move install folder’ option?

It comes up wwith Disk Write Error aswell
