I dunno, I think they’re gonna hold off until way closer to the itemization release which is also gonna be when they’re gonna release radium weapons if they’re at all coming out this year.
Fatshark did that thing they do where they blatantly lie about their own communication, which means they’re anxious about the whole thing all over again. They’re gonna be scared of interacting with the Big Bad Scary Community (you know, their paying customers) again until and unless they really need to.
Then I guess I would give 50/50 of the blame to Fatshark and the community here. Fatshark for putting out a vox that could be construed the wrong way and the community for continuing to huff hopium when we were never explicitly told a new weapon that fits the chatter was coming.
At least they did damage control instead of letting people get excited for something that isn’t coming.
Plasma guns aren’t radioactive, aren’t going to be referred to as newly acquired (because we’ve had them since launch) and aren’t ‘Adeptus Mechanicus toys’ since the Imperial Guard can field them pretty extensively.
The only things that fit are them being pretty old and having 2 plasma vets in a strike team at once lmao
House Van Saar on Necromunda use them but they are fairly tech adept. They don’t fully grasp that the radiation is killing them though.
One theory is that Hadron is using some kill teams to test it since she knows they will probably die at sone point anyways and the possibility of long term effects wouldn’t exactly factor into it.
It could be a sign of the conflict either not going well with more drastic measures being employed or the importance of the upcoming area making her willing to start passing out the really heavy duty stuff.
Edit: Tell the truth if the crew of the Morningstar are on the more radical path of the inquisition I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t start to see some more insane weapons
No, it’s not 50/50 blame. It’s 100% their fault for this PR blunder. “Huffing hopium.” They dropped promotional material for a weapon they don’t have ready yet; the player reaction is completely justified and their damage control - a bold-faced lie - is actually the worst part of this whole fiasco.
They could just be honest and admit their mistake.
