Customization, LOW quality - not a rant

Hello folks.

I just wanted to give a feedback what are my thoughts on really low chance/quality of the cosmetics.

First of all - the % chance of getting one is extremely low imo. Together with the quantity, which isnt that great either I can expect to play years without obtaining anything.
Here I was wondering how it is decided to award one? Is it a “roulette wheel” with one spot for a cosmetic or is it a “wheel” with all the cosmetics on the board, each having a certain % of getting (chance - eg - common, rare, exotic, legendary)?

I would like the latter form of awarding - all hats upon the wheel, each with different % of acquiring. It wouldn’t break the system but add a joy of Christmas gifts in the middle of summer.

Skins - are there any which are physically different? All I saw until now are simple colour changes. Normal, brown/red and dark/black. Plus the ones for V1 owners (really cool, thanks!).
I appreciate making the effort, but simple colour change is a low “quality” feature. There is not that many of them either, you have to grind for them hard in some cases and when you get them… they are mediocre.

I still remember Borerlands 2’s head porn

Simply relying on RNG Jesus gets a bit frustrating and detracts from the experience. I know not everyone cares for the cosmetics but I for one really like them - I come from the RPG and cRPG crowd

All I hope is you will consider a better system to make the cosmetics more available. I would suggest making us work for desired ones and not rely on RNG. And kick their quality and production value a notch or two.

Best regards.

The entire game is based upon an unfair and unrewarding RNG system which doesn’t award and encourage skill or playing on higher difficulties. I mean why would anyone really bother playing legendary when all you get are useless items, red duplicates and zero cosmetics. Of course there are ways to fix some of these issues, by implementing for example a system that exponentially increases the chances of getting cosmetics and red items after each empty chest, or by removing the possibility of getting red or cosmetic duplicates, or by giving more XP to those that played better, or by adding more and better looking hats and weapons ecc ecc… But I doubt that anything will be done regarding these issues. Issues that have been steadily killing the player base since the start

You play higher difficulties for the challenge and succeeding in said challenge is a good reward but it’d be nice to have more…

Yeah, but the challenge alone won’t keep the playerbase alive, for that you need content (which is lacking), progression (also lacking) and rewards for playing (most definitely lacking)

What I am wondering is what kind of rework can be done? Is it feasible to change RNG to something else entirely? Can it be done via patch? How much work does it take?

At the end of the day you have to judge how much work you must put in and is it worth your time.
