i think EAC boots you for using unsanctioned mods

Hello. Thanks for the reply! I still have my old laptop here, and I can still play VT2 there even if there are unsanctioned mods in my files (not updated by the authors anymore), so if that’s the case then I should be able to play on my new laptop as well, but I can’t atm.

That means I know the unsanctioned mods aren’t the issue here. There must be something else. I’m guessing either NVIDIA driver isssue or Working Thread count.

Hey @Auralee, sorry to hear this.

It’s possible that things are getting muddled with the chosen display adapter. I can see your 5090 GPU is being set on adapter 1, however the adapter index is set to 0.

Please can you try the following:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Vermintide 2
  4. Open your user_settings.config file
  5. Find the setting named adapter_index
  6. Change this setting value to adapter_index = 1
  7. Save your user_settings.config file
  8. Launch Vermintide 2 as usual

Please let me know how this goes!

Hello @FatsharkLev

Apologies for the late response, as I have been quite busy with work these days.

I actually fixed my issue before trying out your solution. What I did was I went inside my BIOS and forced my PC to run my display adapter; ignoring my iGPU in the process but not actually disabling it since some apps depend on it. I did follow your recommendation though and set the values from 0 to 1 to further solidify the fix and hopefully not happen anymore.

I managed to finish a few runs on my end without any issues though, so I can safely say that my issue has been resolved. Many thanks and I’ll be sure to post again if I encounter any more issues.

Take care! Finally, I can see VT2 in all its glory! I’ve been playing this game on low to medium settings on my 2060 laptop for 7yrs, so from that to a 5090 and everything all maxed out is a momentous moment for me hehe.

You may now close this thread. Thanks again!
