# Crashing after visiting Melk intermitantly

The first time in the new patch to visit Melk for my weekly’s and I instantly crashed to desktop. Reloaded, and revisited him and it loaded as normal. Left and tried again and crashed to desktop again.

## So I went back in and tested it again. Ran to each shop owner after it didn’t immediately happen. Went back to Melk and after the 4th / 5th time it CTD’s again GUID: 15b41a7c-863a-4523-84ee-e799de3e298f Log File: Info Type:

Thank you for the extra information. Do you happen to have any recent **crash dumps**?

The problem we’re having is that many of these crashes don’t contain the crash dump when we look them up, which would be really helpful in solving this.

If you could have a look in your crash dumps directory and upload anything recent, that would be amazing:

1. Press the Windows key + R
2. Enter `%appdata%` within the search input and select ‘OK’
3. Navigate to `AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide\crash\_dumps

To add to the investigation. This happens to me intermittently on Xbox series X. I don’t notice a correlation to the dialog. Several times it’s happened when I load into the game first time and go straight to Melks. Once it happened after a mission and went to Melks. Only happens in Melks menu, as soon as I open it.

Does not happen every time.

Hi there, I believe I may have found out the cause of the issue. I had a theory that it may have something to do with what Melk says. When I last logged in, I entered Melk’s store and worked fine, and re-entered it up to the point where it crashed, and the dialogue from Melk on the screen at the point of the crash was:

Melk: ‘Well if you think you’re up to it, your welcome to try.’

So, I loaded the game up again (different character, believe it doesn’t matter), and kept entering Melk’s store and leaving it repeatedly, and worked fine with no problems about 10 times with different dialogue every time, right up until that same line of dialogue above appeared again, and it crashed again.

Loading the game twice more, I repeated the above step on another two times on different characters, EXACTLY the same outcome of crashing with the above line of dialogue on-screen.

I reckon there is an issue around the Melks audio that is meant to play with that line, hence the crash immediately upon the line Melk’s dialogue appearing on the screen, if the two are meant to be linked.

You’re correct in that particular voice line is the culprit, very observant! 🙂

It’s my understanding our developers have resolved the issue (internally), and it will be included in our next patch.
