Performance
Issue Description (Required):
After every session, I’m forced to verify file integrity from steam, or I end up getting horrible lag spikes the next time I play the game. I used to have mods, but currently I don’t have any mods installed because of the recent update.
I was unable to find any fixes for this online, neither was anyone in the discord having this issue.

EDIT: I just reinstalled the game and that didn’t fix it either. buttery smooth after verifying, and then back to the lag the next time I open the game.
Hi, as you have a 13th Gen Intel CPU, it’s likely you’re impacted by the manufacturing fault listed here: Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen Desktop Instability Root Cause Update - Intel Community
This makes data corruption a common issue in Darktide. You can work around this by underclocking the ‘Performance Core’ speed using Intel XTU, from x55 to x53.

Hello.
I checked Intel XTU and it reads that my performance core ratio is set to 45x by default, which is already far lower than 53x, please advise.
Thank you
If the damage was already done, underclocking it won’t help.
Test to see if your CPU is impacted: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/15951/intel-processor-diagnostic-tool.html

I barely got this laptop a week ago, so I don’t think it has any issues, I still need to underclock it? How would I go about that?

I don’t think you need to underclock it. It sounded like you had tried underclocking it as a fix (by reducing the core ration from 53 to 45).
EDIT: Happy to hear your CPU isn’t impacted by the ‘instability’ issue.

Hello again, it seems that undervolting did indeed fix the issue,
I changed it from the default 45x to 43x, and I no longer need to verify.
I did also change the DLSS from transformer model to conventional neural network, but I think that only brought minor improvements.
Thank you!
