Yeah it has been around for some time but not sure how long.

Since we are talking about the theme of skins in Darktide, let me just share my personal but arguably very objective rant for the millionth time on the general weapon skins sold at the Commodore’s Vestures: overall, the weapon skins Fatshark hold behind a paywall are so bland and copy pasty from previous skins that it is offensive to anyone who holds a sliver of imagination.

Warhammer is a universe with almost infinite possibilities when it comes to creating cool looking weapon skins and so on, yes, even if Fatshark has to hold things within restrictions of Games Workshop - EVEN THEN, there are SO MANY possibilities to design weapon skins that would be actually worth buying for real money. But 90% of the time, they are simply copy paste; same assets, different colour hues. Colour ME surprised.

Cheers and happy 2026.

Yah, even the lack of a painting option typical of 40k unless they are trying to maintain the redish hue of inquisition or simply lack the interface for painting… or worst purely monetary gain/loss

appears they tried to tie some story to the colors

This last ones almost a joke on the slight recoloration…lawl

Aye, that’s what happens when it’s all outsourced to e-sweatshops on the other side of the planet from Fatshark’s offices to deliver minimum viable products for pennies on the dollar.

For V2 premium cosmetics packs they were droping showcase trailers. It was kinda like with PoE supporter packs.

While not every V2 premium set recieved the same effort still the difference between DT and V2 sets is crazy. I wonder how GW allowed to treat iconic stuff like that.

With DT they treat customers like feeding pigs from a trough. I doubt FS have any control over MTX shop, Tencent probably shoved its hand deep into shark’s cloaca and controls the puppet.

Like why Rust x Wh crossover has lore accurate krieg set? But not DT, lule

Because the hazmat suit in rust that the krieg is a skin for is a all in one cosmetic

Where darktide has a modular system where things have to be designed to accommodate for things being mixed and matched.

Fatshark could do a sort of hero skin thing that halo infinite and space marine 2 have where you have a separate option to have a slot for unique set cosmetic sets that are a all in one with unique aspects unable to a modular system and then have the individual parts without the unique parts on the hero version
But this is fatshark we’re talking about here and doing beyond the bare minimum with meta systems is their is not their mo

And why would that be an end user’s problem? If their current modularity does not allow for an extra 1(singular) dangling tube they could idk EXPAND the system somewhat so it’s possible?

Except in SM2 unique champion skins are also modular now.
