Chaos Wastes - New Boons and Curses - Bring your suggestions

Challenge:

“The Bugman Brew”: A Cask of Bugman XXX Spawn at the start of the level, if you carry it to the end you get a massive buff

“The Great Plan”: Lizardmens trinkets are found on the level, if you find all of them [maybe have it be 15 but 20 spawns]. Give some boons

I think it would be more fun, if we thought up actual nonsensical boons which has a high probability of being added, with classic fatshark quality. Like the one that makes you charge forward when you push enemies.

let me throw a few in.

  • Healing yourself with a medkit now refills your allies stamina
  • Getting downed refills allies stamina
  • At 0% overheat, get 10% ranged power
  • At full ammo, get 10% ranged power.
  • Missing a ranged shot, increases your next shots damage by 10%

New curses:

Pain Reflection
Dealing any damage to any enemies reflects 5% of their damage taken back to you, and 10% damage to any allies standing within 2 meters of you.
This damage is only temporary and will recover after 5 seconds. You will only take damage within a 4 second interval after the first enemy is hit and with every cleave during that period.

Tzeentch’s Ire
Equipping a bomb might unintentionally cause you to ignite and drop it on your feet, and shots (bullets) might ricochet back at you if you miss or if you hit armoured parts of an enemy.
Bolts and arrows might slap harmlessly against the target and cause you to become demoralized, reducing your stamina by 1 for 3 seconds, and fire magic might fizzle out and cause a nice, refreshing cloud of steam instead, which unsettles enemies a little, but does no harm.

Fight, Coward!!
Khorne’s furious gaze burns into your mind and unsettles you to the point where even thinking about pulling out your ranged weapons (or magical staff) makes you shiver.
You cannot use ranged weapons or abilities effectively while Khorne’s gaze is upon you.

Festering Flies
Killing enemies may cause a swarm of flies to appear from the corpse, disrupting your vision but does no harm. Move away from the corpse to get rid of them.
Flies have the same range as a poison gas cloud.

Tzeentchian Abominations
The everchanging horrors of Tzeentch lunge at the Übersreik Five!
Random enemies might have their weak spot (headshot) switched around to another limb.

Vermintide
Killing a special or elite might trigger a landslide of skaven foes crashing against you, either in the form of a localized horde of skavenslaves, half of a stormvermin patrol or two rat ogres.

Khazrak’s Doomed Visison
You have been cursed by a bray-shaman!
Half your vision has been stolen, reducing your field of vision by blocking off half the screen with a black fade.

Obsession for Perfection
You become obsessed with dealing the killing blow. Every hit that is not a one-hit kill deals 1 damage to you and increases damage taken by 2 for 2 seconds, and every hit that does kill an enemy in one hit recovers 1 health point and increases your damage done by 5% for 2 seconds. Charge attacks that are linked count as one hit blows.

Obsessive-compulsive Hoarding
You need that item. It is yours.
Picking up any resource grants you a 5% power boost for 5 seconds
Not picking up anything after 2 minutes from your last pickup (or from the start of the map) increases your speed by 30% but also increases your damage taken by 50% until you pick something up.
Continuously picking up items speeds up the clock, meaning that the more you pick up the faster the curse kicks in.

Friend, or Foe?
Allies might randomly show up as enemies, and can take damage from melee attacks from allies.
Pushing them dispells the illusion.

Fly, you fools!
Past a certain point from the start of the map, your party is being hounded by 10 patrols of a random mix-up.
Killing everyone in the patrol only serves to make them respawn later in the map.
The only way to avoid this onslaught is to move fast!

Da Bad Moon
Turns the map into night-time.
Da Bad Moon might randomly appear in the sky, blurring your vision and causing slow temporary damage until you break line of sight. Enemies caught in its vision may turn into explody shrooms and blow up!

Doomed to Fail
Despair takes hold in all the Übersreik Five. Health is permanently grey in this map. The only way to get rid of it is to reach the end.

Khorne’s Bloody Chosen
Blessed be those who follow the dark gods. A Chaos Chosen is looking for you somewhere on this map. You cannot kill him, and he spawns endless hordes once he’s seen you.
The only way to win is to cut a path through his underlings and flee!

Fungal Growth
Killing any enemy might shower you in nurglic, festering spores. After 5 seconds, these spores will mature into deadly shrooms which explode after another 5 seconds, dealing poison damage and halving attack and movement speed for 3.5 seconds to any players caught within the blast, except the player who blew up.
These explosions will also affect enemies.

One thing to add is that it’s better for boons and curses to be simple and easy to understand. Nothing worse than having no idea what’s going on or trying to read what a boon does in your inventory when there’s no time for it.

Suggestions

Boons

Helping hatred: crits give temp health to nearby allies

Kopf wunderwaffe: headshots have a 5% chance to generate a bomb for pickup

Oblivious: 30% damage reduction, attacks from outside your view no longer make the whooshing noise

Ghost strikes: melee attacks have a 1-10% chance of hitting twice (depending on speed, weapons and light vs heavy attack, balancing would be difficult)

Consistent performer: increases power by 25%, disables crits

Moral adjustment: killing an elite staggers all chaff enemies in a small radius, going down staggers nearby teammates

Frogmode (kruber only): crit headshots spawn a chaos frog that bursts dealing aoe damage to nearby enemies (friendly globadier but weaker?)

Friendly dire: friendly fire gives temp hp to allies but damages yourself

Curses

Slaaneshian consumption: party drops all items at the start of the level, all items are automatically used upon pickup

I didn’t eat any khorne: each player drops a yellow kernel bomb every crit, small aoe, shortish timer, large damage, minor damage to enemies (maybe just stagger)

Tzeentch’s trickery: every pickup has a 50% chance of turning into an elite (pickup is lost, increased items for the map?)

Nurgle’s pestilence: healing items only clear wounds and restore temp hp, players do not respawn

If you’re referring to my ideas, then it’s always possible to just make a TLDR explanation ingame.
I’m just going further in-depth to make them better understandable.

Just a few off the top of my head:

Boons:
Backdraft (Sienna, maybe Bardin) - manually venting at or above medium overcharge creates a gust that staggers nearby enemies, venting at or above high overcharge creates a gust that sets nearby enemies on fire

Khaine’s Toll - melee weapons inflict bleeding

Loec’s Sleight (unique) - parrying an attack deals half the damage of the attack back to the attacker

Curse: Changed Ways (Tzeentch) - on use, healing items, potions and bombs have a random possible effect of all those possible for items in their slot (rare chance for Speed, Concentration or Strength potion effects, extremely rare chance for Jade Censer or Morgim’s bomb). Rarely may trigger a second effect, or none at all (healing item gets consumed without healing, potion does nothing, bomb hits enemies and deals zero damage).

Traits: Mirror’s Reflection (shields) - Can now block warpfire and blocking ranged attacks (warpfire and ratling fire, gas globes before they explode) deflects them in front of you.

Mostly career-exclusive boons this time (even-though some could technically be applied to other careers too):

  • Hellfire: Fire DoT power increases with overcharge - Exotic (Unchained only)
  • Grounded: All attacks versus rammed down enemies are critical - Unique (Footknight only)
  • Smoke Screen: Smoke Bomb hides team mates as well as long as they don’t attack - Exotic (RV only)
  • Incendiary Ammunition: Hits by the mini-gun cause a fire dot proportional to the amount of hits and their damage - Unique (OE only)
  • Fanatical: Your strong faith adds two more stacks when using Holy Fervour - Unique (Zealot only)

To lazy to think for more right now. Maybe another time.

Petrify on outcast engineer sounds dope lol
