with attack speed it becomes really hard to chain together slaps and punches without cancelling the punch. i’ve got both the attack speed talents and what happens is the punch will be just about to connect but another slap interrupts it. would be awesome if the punch was fixed so it always follows thru with its animation. also pls buff the slap damage by a couple hundred and give all marks the punch after slap
All the new x move into special combo loops can be interrupted on ogg now, you just need to be more mindful of when you toss out a slap. I can cut off any moveset of a knife with a punch and the same with a pick bunt/pull, it makes it less spam all the moves and encourages more thoughtful play. This move is also a lot of what redeems Brunt’s Pride as a weapon, since otherwise it gets Borovian’d without the extra damage that has relative to Karsolas. Every combo route is bad and generally mixing single and crowd moves, but this is a great option for both crowds and single target.
“encourages more thoughtful play” - no it doesn’t, the majority of the time you are spamming melee to do more damage, there is nothing thoughtful about it. stop coping, the fact that you can interrupt your own attack is a nerf no matter how you look at it.
If you’re going to suggest that being forced into full animations before actions can execute would make the game more deep to play I’m gonna have to disagree. It would just be more rigid for the player. They even put a warning about this for the crazy responsive block timing they added to brute shovel (which can cancel any light attack). Stop mashing.
