Hey, long-time Outcast Engineer enthusiast here. I’ve been playing the career long before the reworks/balance patches and just love it to bits. Currently, I think Engineer is in a great place right now and he plays great for the most part, but one crucial mechanic I’m still not a fan of is how Pressure stacks are lost outside of Superior Gaskets.
With that talent being so user-friendly, I just don’t understand why building pressure is so polarizing otherwise. Especially when it’s vital keeping those max stacks of pressure to get any use at all of the other lvl 20 talents on the same line.
I’ve tried to make it work because I really love the attack speed Head Full of Steam gives, but the maintenance of keeping your stacks up is so taxing at the moment that it takes the fun out of using the talent sometimes. I can’t tell you how many times I missed cranking my gun by a fraction of a second and had to build my stacks up to five all over again (which takes time and ruins pacing) because they instantly drop to zero.
I’d love to see some kind of change where instead of going from 5 > 0 upon the 12 seconds expiring, Pressure stacks wind down gradually–like 5 > 4 > 3 and so on. It would be such a great quality of life change, and I think it would give more breathing room for people that want to make better use of Head Full of Steam and Perilous Overclock.
Cheers
