Bots Need A Rework

Bots in Darktide are still terrible. They feel like basic placeholders rather than actual backup teammates.

I do not think they need to be as good as real players, but they should at least fill useful support roles.

Instead of generic low-level bots, give them simple archetypes:

  • Veteran bot that uses shout periodically

  • Ogryn bot that taunts in special conditions

  • Arbites bot that tanks and uses dog on specials

  • Skitarii bot that uses Servo-Skull for revives

They do not need complex AI. Just basic condition-based support would already be a huge improvement.

Also, Fatshark could use bots to show off new classes and cosmetics. Let bots wear premium cosmetics or new shop sets. It works as in-game advertising, and it makes bots look less like unfinished placeholders.

One more thing: bots should not grab important pickups or used healing station servitor thingies unless told to like V2.

Bots do not need to carry the run.

They just need to stop feeling like a punishment.

This should have just been a copy and paste system from Vermintide. Where it just copies your build for the other characters and lets you use them to fill in for the bots, in multiplayer and solo play. Oh, wait! We don’t have a solo play…

It’s a major bummer too. Considering how much money people spend on cosmetics in this game, and they don’t even get to see their characters mid match.

Hummat is an example that this is possible. There is a mod that allows bots to be smart in solo play (Unfortunately another mod). These bots are actually good. You can complete a auric game nicely without it feeling cheap. With another mod you can build the bot basically using your characters

FS should just ask him if they can use his code or something. Only thing I can see is a problem is the performance (literal) cost on their server. Which is why they should add solo already.

They have more tools at their disposal, they should be able to do a lot more with their engine than the mode.

Honestly, around 60-70% of the mods should be part of the core game.
