Using talents to compensate for a weapons sore spots is how the game should work. If weapons had no downsides then everything would just be dueling swords.
I think the weapon is good. But to say its completely trivialize the game is ridiculous. I was playing a game of High intensity shock troop gauntlet on auric with my friend last night. He was using a arc rifle build, and I was just doing pure melee. There was always enemies on screen. We was constantly having to get into melee. I think your vastly overstated the impact of this weapons. So either you play with top 1% players or your playing in malice. That the only conclusion I can come to based on what you said.
Interestingly, on the very first day Stakirii was released, I said that claw was severely overpowered, which is extremely harmful to both stat inflation and class balance. However, those claw babies was strongly defending it.
Now that they’ve got what they wanted.
I returned to assignment rank 40 the very next day after the update, and have been constantly testing being/with a Stakirii in Havoc 40 ever since, because I’m not under the risk of getting deranked.
With randoms, it’s simply impossible to achieve what Fatshark advertises as 4 Stakirii each fulfilling different roles, all I ended up with were 3 dead weights constantly draining my medicae servo skull.
You wouldn’t believe how many Stakirii players lack even the most basic skills, rely solely on the high damage output of the claw and arc rifle, only to die instantly whenever they encounter a situation they can’t handle.
This is the consequence of Fatshark designing a class that relies entirely on crutch.
What are you talking man? Of course I can if it deletes everything during the time I have it, and with 40 shots you have it long enough. Same with the Boom Bringer, you only get 2-3 shots, yet it just deletes everything in front of you, making it impossible to balance challenging hordes for other classes if something like this exists.
I exclusively play Auric and it’s not that I can’t get a single kill, the problem is that any meaningful encounter of enemies is just no challenge when the majority just dies, especially hordes of Maulers and Ragers are a complete joke to this gun. Even Crushers are usually dead before I can even reach them in melee.
Yes, this gun has been added to my list of “bye bye gameplay” with the inferno staff and rumbler spam. Simplifies aurics so much that it becomes boring to play. And finding quickplay without them is already becoming akin to winning the lottery. I think I’ll be back in DT in a couple of months, once the Skitarii hype dies down. And maybe a miracle will happen, and some balance patch will fix the situation for the better.
I have to quit 4-5 lobbies on average to get a game worth playing these days. Arc Rifle is on my black list, together with kraks, boom bringer, needle pistol, purgatus and smite, that’s insta-quit lobby/match if it’s present. I’m thinking about adding rumbler there too, it’s just it’s not that often I meet ogryns that use it, so it hasn’t got under my skin yet.
