Arc Rifle NEEDS a nerf... It's so obvious now

I think it’s amusing that you talk about having fun, but at the same time want to force a different loadout on others. Maybe people are having fun because they like the supposedly “weak” weapon and enjoy using it. It’s a little hypocritical, isn’t it?

That’s why all weapons should be at a similar level, without turning the difficulty levels upside down.

Exactly, I don’t call the twin stubber too strong, because it isn’t.

It can be strong with a dedicated gun ogryn build, but the ability goes on cooldown for a long time and outside of the ability it just isn’t a good weapon that can delete any armour class and especially doesn’t chain damage to enemies you aren’t hitting.

So, what exactly is your point other than “shooting into horde is fun”? That’s exactly the problem here, it’s fun to mindlessly blast armies of enemies with overpowered weapons for some people that don’t care if they ruin the fun of the other players.

idk about this, it melt packs of elites like nothing and you can see the spam in the killfeed

arc rifle its obviously the most meta pick for skitarii but if anything they need first nerf things that have been unattended for so long. cause thats whats annoying for me, and mind that it got even a compensation buff purgatus which was even more annoying as thing when it didnt deserve any

This would be the logic you would use against every single smite player.

This would be the logic you would use against every single bubble player.

This would be the logic you would use against every single Chorus player.

This would be the logic you’d use against every single shout veteran.

This would be the logic you would use against break the line.

This would be the argument you would use against desperado hive scum.

Arc Rifle doesn’t need to be touched before all of those first.

Pointing at the things that are strong then complaining. How it doesn’t make the game fun for you. Is the weakest argument I have heard so far.

I think that 55% overall rending or whatever it is from bugs is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. I’d like to see that fixed before going ‘yah nerf’ because it lets you drop the bulky targets it was literally balanced to do little more than smite-stun currently otherwise. But for so much instant rending.

I’m gonna be honest. I didn’t even think the Arc Rifle all that good until I started using the infinite ammo crit build. Which was fun for like 2 games and I started making other builds lol.

There’s actually quite a lot of penalties to the weapon like movment, the braced animation isn’t that great. It doesn’t distinguish whenever you stopped aim all that well. I’ve been downed atleast 3 times trying to swap weapons just to get stuck in the bracing animation because for some reason, it takes like an hour to drop the gun to your side.

The reload is extremely long, if you need to reload, during a crescendo, you might as well just stay on melee the entire time. Because you won’t be getting the reload finished without getting swarmed.

People just need to let thing settle for a a few months before they get into the nerf conversation. Its hard to come back from a nerf. Especially if they just turn around and increase crusher health again.

You do have a point there. It just bugs me that they’d have to release something like this for a class that’s actually pretty well-balanced.

How about we meet halfway and agree that both need to be worked on as soon as possible?

if they nerf the arc rifle and fix the brittleness, then they could feasibly buff the inferno staff to compensate for losing that brittleness. fair is fair. no nerf to anything without a psyker buff to go with it please

PBB Twink Ogryn is one of the most powerful builds in the entire game man, right up there with Inferno Psyker and Rampage Scum. It puts out disgusting amounts of damage when played right, with its only drawback being that it’s also an ammo hog, but the damage output is more than worth it.

Are you saying that all those people leaving games when they see a skitarii and the people that do not invite me in Havoc when I play as Skitarii do that because the Arc Gun is overpowered and the game would be too simple?

“Arc Rifle NEEDS a nerf… It’s so obvious now”

A bit.

To me, is like a Flamer + Automatic rifle + Carbine.

Recoil? What recoil?

It doesn’t necessarily have to be because of that. If you also have ACD as a skill, the probability does go up. And yeah, most people here like the challenge, and weapons/builds like that make it a lot easier.

Besides, you kind of take the fun away from others when you basically kill everything on the screen and the others are just running after you.

Just imagine if almost every enemy you charge at or shoot at just disappeared right before the first hit—that wouldn’t be much fun.

But nobody can really be blamed for enjoying those kinds of weapons/builds. It’s pretty satisfying to mow down a bunch of enemies. The only ones you can blame are the developers who introduced such a powerhouse into the game in the first place.

No surprises there. We knew Fatshark is going to add yet another lazy fast AoE clear option(s) to Skit. This conversation doesn’t even end on Arc rifle. They should just stop with overlapping statuses, DoTs and AoEs as they are never balanced.

For now, if I want a more difficult game: gatekeeping is the way. Obviously everyone and their grandma wants to play “BiGGG DAAAMGEEE” builds. Luckily majority of players, even in Havoc are absolute dogsh…on squishy builds, and just fall over all the time, especially on the new classes where the “meta” builds havent been figured out yet.

For me psy / hive scum and Skit are the flex slot in the group, and I rather have just one of them on the team, unless I know them, and I know what to expect.

This is simply a case of Fatshark’s poor balance. The arc rifle has just enough damage to melt anything from 50m away on auric and maelstrom, leave nothing for teammates to kill. But under the Havoc 40’modifier like current Encroaching Garden, unlike something such as flamethrower, arc rifle would be unable to serve its purpose of quickly clearing elites.

If a weapon’s power can only be gauged by the enemy’s limited maximum health, then it is a poor design, as it will appear unbalanced in every mode.

The movement speed doesn’t matter if everything dies in front of you and the same goes for it’s clunkiness. If you combine it with Voltaic Emitter, you literally can’t get swarmed, because you have a panic button that happens to stun all enemies around you and gives them the electrified status, which causes the Arc Rifle to delete them even faster.

If you use it with Gunsmith, you never have to reload the gun yourself and just switch to melee for a couple of seconds. The 40 shots are way more than enough to deal with the majority of a wave and the rest that keeps standing you just fight normally.

Not when it’s this obvious. Like I said, it was obvious to me after the second day and almost two weeks of people ruining my games is long enough. Every single time I see someone shooting this gun, everything in front of me just dies and that is not the reason I play a horde shooter game that’s supposed to be hard.

That word does not exist for the (EDIT) Arc Rifle.

I was being sarcastic, obviously the reason is that elitist people don’t think that it can bring enough to the table in Havoc. In fact the Arc Gun is likely the only reason I get invited at all, imagine the disappointment when they find out that I play galvanic rifle.

Is this a strawman?

Because it seems to me that this clearly isn’t what OP is trying to say.

Reining in the arc rifle is not the same as nerfing the skitarii into the ground.

And the longer we allow this to go unnerfed, the more attached people will get to it and eventually come to feel entitled to keep it.

These are all reasonable and “minor” nerfs. There is no way the entire skitarii class is going to be nerfed into the ground from one or a few of these changes.

And after all, you still have chordclaw. Though arguably that also needs to be reined in a bit. Otherwise bosses might as well not exist or pose a meaningful challenge in the game. And if this were to happen i think it would be reasonable to buff some other weaker things about the class to compensate, because it does need to be fun to play as well.

But honestly, this is like opening a can of worms. Because if these things need nerfing, how does that justify allowing other insanely powerful things to be in the game? Like the zealot nuking bosses with thunderhammer, with very little investment (though you could argue gimping yourself by bringing THammer is an investment in itself).

How about we buff the weak stuff first before we go messing with somthing that is slightly stronger than the avreage. We want more options not less.

I completely disagree. You can’t call somthing strong when you can’t play it half the time. If you have to get into melee with a build thats geared for ranged so you have a mediocre melee to pair along side it. Not stronge in the slightest thats not considering the build is even worse now after the rework.
