Just another post about how completely anti player havoc demotion is.
I’ve just played 2 games of havoc where I didn’t have great luck with the teammate RNG so lost 2 strikes.
I wanted to play another mission and likely another mission after that but instead I quit the game because I don’t want to lose another f***ing rank through no real fault of my own.
So that’s it. That’s all my 2 goes used up for the rest of the week.
Guess I’ll go and play something else and you’ve lost a loyal player until the anti player mechanic resets next week.
Change the goddamn horrible and demoralising demotion system. I detest it with my entire being. It hits my ADHD justice sensitivity with maximum impact. It feels deeply unfair and it gives me anxiety when all I want to do is play the peak content.
Allow us the entire week to have as many goes as we want and restrict demotion to once per week on reset, or remove it entirely.
I’ve demoted 40 manually, than fell all the way to 30 playing with pugs, just to get it back in 2 days. If you are capable enough, you only really need one more skilled player to win most of your runs.
If demotion is a constant struggle for one, maybe the fault is not within the system itself.
To think 1 person can h40 by themselves is utter crap and I’m sick of that argument.
H40 requires 4 good players. 1 weak teammate can ruin a run.
You went from 30 to 40 in 2 days? Each havoc mission is about an hour at least so you played 15+ hours per day to get that back. I’m happy you’re able to commit that time in 2 days but I can’t.
I’m not a bad player by any stretch but I play as ogryn, not an infinite cheatcode kiting scum that can speedrun. I use no mods whatsoever.
Perhaps you play at a different time with a good crowd. I play late at night which is the only time I can commit the absolute focus required for h40.
I only play with pubs. Never premade. It’s pure lottery. Sometimes we breeze through a mission with not a single down. Sometimes we don’t make it past the first boss wave. It is ENTIRELY team and director dependent. Plus it also depends what insane modifiers the game lotto has given you. I’m a good player but if teammates die then an ogryn can outrun garden-healing twins, 2 bosses, 5 crushers, army of other enemies etc etc.
Those people aren’t average Havoc players, nor I bet is their game setup. Looking forward to their H40 solos without certain mods. We can start with playing at the default max Field of View value. There is a real challenge for the TrueSolo crowd.
giving yourself eye strain is the real challenge? man i had no idea lol. some people like higher fovs, i didnt know mods suddenly invalidated every havoc run ever, better not even play havoc then because i can guarantee you 95% of havoc players use mods of some sort

If they make no difference and h40 is so easy then they will be able to solo a H40 without mods I’m sure. Whilst it’s not impossible, imo it’s pretty close to impossible, luck of the modifier/director draw dependent.
like i said, 95% of havoc players use mods, so i guess everyone is a cheater and all mods should be banned then yeah? and the players that use em? also ‘cheating’ lmao thats hilarious, you really are funny i mean it
Imo yes all gameplay mods are cheats. That is the hard truth.
Use them if you want. I can’t stop you but don’t barge in here pretending h40 is easy whilst you have more mods than Ironman in your game files. It’s disingenuous.
I have earned every single badge and penance in the game without the use of a single mod. So I am not a bad player and I can admit that h40 is bloody tough as it’s meant to be. Saying it can be soloed easy is just narcissistic.
when did i say it was easy? are you struggling to read now? you said it was impossible, i said its been done and provided a couple examples, and now you just go off on a tangent about mods or whatever else you wanna be upset about lmao
I’m not saying the default FOV values are good, in anything they are used to partially hide the game’s performance issues. But lets just skip the “mods are cheating” part, because I didn’t say that, but get to the part you acknowledge higher than default FOV values give you a really nice boost to your awareness about what’s going on around you as a player. Plenty of other mods which improve both VFX and SFX noise Darktide is full of. Is using those mods, cheating? No, but again give you an advantage.
This doesn’t invalidate that people running Havoc40 duos or solos really good at the game / play a lot of it. I cannot blame them for using mods to make that experience less straining on eyes and ears, or as workarounds to broken audio cues. I can see the value there, and the gameplay advantage.
read the other guys message, he said its cheating, and if having a higher fov is an advantage what about ultrawide monitors? are those advantages too? is having an ultrawide monitor now a pay to win feature? because i have one, and if i were to use the default fovs, well it strains my eyes lol
I’m not a master of other people’s opinions. I haven’t used ultrawide monitors. I have used different mod setups in Darktide. I can see and hear more thanks to them.
