He means it’s a step back if he already has all blessings unlocked in his library and now he has to get mastery. It’s also for not wanting to level up a weapon family and starting over with less choices he doesn’t like.
Personally I am fine with it. Sure at first it may be less options for us vets, but it’s way better for new players. And eventually it will be way better if you put the mastery in.
You can use the old system to randomly get something, even if you don’t have the blessing library anymore. As long as the mastery to unlock a weapon family for all blessings and perk choices is “reasonable” I think it’s fine. Like… 5 damnation runs maybe, completed. So players on malice that struggle with lower difficulties can get it at a more reasonable time frame. Or not have mastery XP tied to real XP and difficulty.
I do like the idea of being able to get a generic weapon mastery XP resource and apply it to weapon families without having to use the weapon itself, but I can understand why some won’t want that.
I also get the stats still being hard set can be annoying for break point calculations and testing/theory crafting the optimal stats… It’s a lot easier if every weapon you find (with enough resources and max mastery) is essentially a 380. But meh. I will just get something close and use that. And if something new comes along with stats I want, I can swap all the perks and blessings right away to what I want and use that instead.
Maybe we’ll get reds with higher maximums and full control over the stat bars. I still would have liked the ability to lower a stat for more points to increase others.
can you do this for achievement points? I’ve utterly burned myself out attempting to go after some of these, and just wish more were able to be gotten by just playing the game normally.
Its on a train, which is going to be fun to see hopping from each train car, inside and outside of it. Seems like it would be similar to the stage and fight in the video game Jedi Fallen Order, the movie scene of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the train scenes from Boba Fett and Mandalorian, and of course those classic western and early era train fight scenes in movies. Im sure there will be some challenging things that stop speed runners from breaking team work factors lol
Its sad how people hadn’t paid attention to the Q&A you already made before. You have done so well to communicate, be a good CM, and yet we still get salty ingrates that don’t read, then spit venom
More like we are finally moving from alpha to beta stage after half a decade or so.
Release is when you have a polished project with all the core features finished. Beta testing is when you have everything functioning and need to do fine-tuning so you get a polished release. Alpha is when you have something that is barely functional and are still making major changes or just scraping entire systems.
Must be darn nice to work in a business where you can push a half-baked piece of junk out the door and collect the same amount of pay as if it was actually complete. Most jobs if that happens you’re slapped with various penalties for breach of contract, the accounts are closed, and your investors have a firesale on your stock.
Those features are coming. In fact it wouldn’t suprise me at all if they’ve been coded and ready to take up space in the shop. The only thing stopping their release is the sheer amount of backlash that would happen with an obvious pay-to-win scheme while there are still players who want the game they were promised and paid for. To say nothing of bringing down the wrath of Games Workshop on the only thing keeping ObeseTuna afloat (their license to the Warhammer IP).
So ObeseTuna is waiting until they’ve collected as much as they can from the non-whales while waiting for their various bullyboys to silence or exile anyone with enough spine to call out ObeseTuna’s behavior. Then they can put out their latest whale-milking scheme, safe in the knowledge that their just won’t be enough people left to get the mess on the front page.

I don’t have lot of hope on this… but will we be able to choose to not pair with a psyker, a zealot, an ogryn or a veteran?
I am really tired to leave games cause of too strong weapons…
Yes, I don’t have a lot of hope, but still, at least I could avoid plasma turrets.
A grind and a slot machine are very different things. Metered progression is fine and often good. Playing 20 missions and RNG repeatedly throwing you snake eyes for your rewards was always the actual issue.
If you really just want a sandbox fair enough I guess, but pretty weird to expect that niche preference to become a reality.
true. i’ve ranted that getting random results doesn’t respect one’s time investment (much more on reddit than here) and that having a goal to work towards is much more rewarding.
Just have red weapons. One you’re red - level, you can have red weapons.
Cash in ALL our weapons, every one. Remove our entire inventory so we’ve one of each class.
Refund levelling points for every unique blessing level on there. Any duplicate weapons, refund as plasteel and diamantium.
Ditch this stupid new RNG on base-level crap. No one wants it, no one needs it.
Just let us craft our weapons using these two resources whenever we want to add or change anything. Let us determine the numbers on each of our weapons with a slider. I will pay for each time I change it from game currency.
Bottom line: this idea that players get some kind of dopamine hit when they get a new better weapon clearly doesn’t work in a co-op game like DT, where 30 hours gets you to the top tier character build.
