Is that so? Even if, then you still have to buy the grays and upgrade them to greens, which costs materials. Which also would take FAR FAR FAR longer then simply sacrificing the oranges.
Also i find it hard to believe that green weapons offer the exact same amount of mastery points as orange weapons. Do you have any source to prove it?
Also funny how you were complaining about selling things in bulk to be a chore but you’re totally fine spending 30 min buying and upgrading dozens weapons to upgrade a weapons mastery.
IDK why this is bouncing back and forth. I’m not trying to “beat” you on the forums, and I respect your experience and builds that you shared. So - okay - I relent, let’s keep the Emperors gift and we then can all go to another screen to render it for currency and/or crafting materials, as we see fit.

(I went in to this patch with full mastery, but a poop-tonne of pre-bought inventory that I’m still yet to completely sort through - cf Please let us sell 1 item more easily).
I’m not sure how the game is now, but on release and pre-emperor’s gift in every mission, completing a mission did not feel satisfying like it did in Vermintide. In Vermintide 2, you were guaranteed a chest/vault with possibility of a 2nd commendation chest. This meant every (successful) mission was 3 new items guaranteed and the possibility of 6 (up to 9 if you did a deed with an extra chest/vault). Darktide had… Nothing. You got some money to spend at the armory that reset once every hour (?) and some exp.
I don’t think the current version of Emperor’s Gift is enough, I’d gladly take a coffer with 3 weapons (even if you need to scrap/sell them) over a single weapon. But completing a mission needs some kind of reward other than “here’s some pocket change for the cornerstone, Timmy. Ignore the fact that the store has the same items you didn’t want when you left!”
This is ridiculous… So it might be better to sell all orange/purple stuff for mats/money and hoard blue/green stuff from brunt instead. This should be changed.
This whole thing started because the other guy wanted (or it looked like he wanted because he thought he’s in the vermintide forum) money instead of weapons.
I think that idea is pointless and redundant as the weapons themselves are money or can be mastery points (which we established is the worse option apparently…)
But i agree that emperors gift itself should be changed to something else. Like melk coins or aquilas (tho aquilas is NEVER going to happen, just remember the xbox fiasco).
I think dockets or platsteel would be annoying to see. Like, why is this additional platsteel shown as some sort of gift instead of being added as a bonus for winning a mission?
Maybe it would be nice to get a 3rd currency that can be spent on free unlockable skins (though we know that is also never going to happen…)
While I’m not crazy hot on the Emperor’s Gift, I’d rather that the root cause of inventory management be addressed.
That said it’d be much easier to implement an opt-out, though I still think it’s kinda silly that you’d even want to do this in the first place (in that it’s so painful to manage items that a free one is unwanted)…
If your all done with masteries and weapons you could just ignore the items that you get from the gifts and leave them in your inventory then delete them all in one go at the end of each gaming session you play. There is an option to delete everything below a certain value ./shrug i mean still a bit of an annoyance but not so bad.
I delete the item after each run myself because ocd ha
