Experience, true level, all kinda irrelevant. someone could spend 4000 hours on smite, and most likely be terrible.
I feel as though people set expectations on me like clutch spectating
Theyâre like whoa 1000 class level and I feel bit of pressure
I think forums is good for critical reading & thinking skills as well, many jumped to conclusion experience equals skill despite my caveat of âoftenâ maybe arguably too strong a word but thatâs more of critique debate nor does it specify what kind of experience or skill.
Bad habits exist precisely from bad repetitive experience producing an automotive skill.
True level is more likeâŚ
Iâve gotta agree with them frankly. It can be a rough indicator at absolute best. Itâs not uncommon to see atrocious play from people with triple digit true level, like heresy player bad.
Not saying thereâs a better parameter (though there could be), that doesnât change the reliability of true level though. Itâs extremely far from a consistent indicator of skill level. A fresh 30 who is team minded rather than narcissistic can often be a bigger boon to a run than a level 200 determined to rush or solo.
Seen a lot of 2000+ true level players remove knife or ds and instantly die, truly tragic.
Assuming this statement is even true at all, gosh, Iâve seen a LOT of lottery winners (usually advertised by the lotto companies) so better go out and buy lotto tickets huh?
True level is no indication of skill, i say this after a significant amount of havoc, picking people at random. Personally at account level 4700.
I really donât know how else to say that your personal experience does not make a trend without coming off as insulting at this point, so you do you, and anyone else who can see the logical pitfall of my last post will understand why the mod is fine and even useful to some.
P.S. Iâve never used the mod and I have no clue what my âtrue levelâ is or even give a crap about it or what othersâ are. Variety is the spice of life.
Anyone that spends this much time on a single weapon is bound to be dogsht without his crutch. Forums would be a lot more fun if you could see player stats/profiles with weapon usage times.
Iâm sure it would shift a lot of the balance discussion into a very funny direction (:
I donât think anyone suggests that the correlation is perfect, but there is a correlation between experience and skill.
I guess i would consider the True level to be more of an indicator of time spent in the game. Similar to what the old call of duty games had with prestige systems. It didnt necessarily mean you were hood, more like, you played a ton. Thats the feeling im hoping to get. Give me prestige level/symbol or a +100 next to my name. Man, i honestly dont even care to get free cosmetics! I just want to see my xp bar keep going up as i slay heritics!
Most humans get better with practise. Fact.
Ergo: anyone who argues against the idea that a higher true level is indicative of better ability is shouting pointlessly at statistics.
Let me explain the statistics of saturation curves and outliers. Some people peak much earlier than others and donât improve, and some have really good time-to-ability ratios and are amazing after few days in game. They are anomalies. They arenât your average player.
tl;dr: youâre best just playing the stats. And the stats say; more time spent = less likely to be a chump. Yes, youâre going to find anomalies, but the best probability of finding someone âokayâ is to find someone with a high TrueLevel.
wrong. There was a exploit a while ago that allowed you to get huge amounts of XP. Seen alot of people get their 2k+ levels that way.
Stolen Valor!!!
lol. imagine the guards on the ship finding out and mocking such people.
If this gona be added to game there should be account lvl on inspecting player and option to hide account and operative lvl.
âŚbut you canât hide now with mods =p
hidden level gonna get the same as >30 treatment
had some wild carries today, one dude complained like a little girl about ârush squadâ when his laggard bum-ass wasnt able to leave the starting area of all places.
no way we gonna backtrack for âthatâ if its incapable of surviving the first encounter.
start was a shitshow, kudos though for the console dude at least he stuck around
picked him up at every waystation at least onceâŚ
so hide levels all you want, i still gonna gauge, judge and wager to my discretion about how i spend my time
Yeah, but if devs decide to add it it pretty much gona be the other way around.
you notice anyway when someone stumbles into the wrong difficulty.
