Most of us have been on winter holidays for the past few weeks but are back in action now :)
We're finalizing a patch which contains the 2nd and 3rd shrine pages and some QoL changes such as an option to remove head bobbing, as well as several bug fixes. I'm hoping to push this out to a public test branch at the start of next week. And if everything goes well we'll release the patch after a few days.
Let me start off by saying we absolutely want to talk about the game with you all. Unfortunately we've been spread thin as of late and those of us who participate in the forums and social media have simply been too swamped with other things to keep up. We're in the process of recruiting a Community Manager who will focus on making sure you (the community) are being heard. Finding the right person for this role has been a lengthy process, but we're getting close!
Quite a few of us browse the forums every day but going through and answering takes a lot of time. This is definitely something we aim to improve on going in to 2016 though.
We really appreciate all the support you are giving us and that you're interested in being a part of this community.
Those of you who have pre-ordered Vermintide should now see the application in your Steam library. The game will be made available for download at 18:00 UTC on October 16th.
Some people have reported problems loading the backend plugin. If you get a popup on startup saying "Error loading backend plugin" we might be able to help each other.
We have a version of the plugin that talks to the backend that is a work in progress and that we are not really ready to launch full scale yet. Which might solve your problems - and in the process you help us narrow down the problem.
So, how do I try this 'plugin'? You might ask. Well, follow the easy steps below and hopefully you can try out the game.
1) Download "fishtank_pluginw32_publicdev.dll" attached to this post.
2) Locate your Steam folder, normally this would be in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam"
but if you for some reason changed it you can find it in steam by clicking Steam -> Settings -> Downloads -> STEAM LIBRARY FOLDERS.
3) Open the Steam folder in explorer and then navigate to SteamApps\common\Warhammer End Times Vermintide Public Test\binaries\plugins
4) Rename the "fishtank_pluginw32_publicdev.dll" located in that folder to "fishtank_pluginw32_publicdev.dll.bak"
5) Copy the downloaded "fishtank_pluginw32_publicdev.dll" in to that folder.
6) Launch the game from within Steam and keep your fingers crossed.
This should result in a different error:
"Error. 'Wrong transition: Going from state "connection connect" to "connection intialized"'
Please let us know your results so that we can track down the root of this issue!
